The Brix on The Fox New Years Wedding

The Brix on The Fox New Years Wedding | Rose & Randy | DECEMBER 31ST 2021

It has been quite an adventure with those two. I first photographed Rose & Randy on the extremely hot and humid day at their engagement session in Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook, IL. Rose and Randy are kind and loving people that make you fall in love with my job all over again. They made me feel so welcomed and appreciated. I knew right then that we’ll  have a great time together on their wedding day. Little did we know…

Their wedding day was canceled by a pandemic lockdown about two weeks before their Big Day. After another reschedule their only wish was to just be married. They decided for a micro ceremony on New Year’s Eve 2020 and have a big celebration next year. Fast forward…. Here we are!

I was so delighted to spend, second in a row, New Years Eve with this unbelievably gorgeous & fun couple in their gorgeous venue – The Brix on the Fox . Celebrating their wedding anniversary by a vow renewal ceremony. Their joy is so infectious that I couldn’t keep a smile off my face! Their entire day was truly amazing! These two are just some of the greatest humans on the planet!!

THAT’S HOW THIS STORY STARTED…. AND IT GOES ON…
– ceremony transcript by (Rev. Brad Hughes @Love Story Weddings)

“It was August of 2007. They met where all young couples in love should meet…  in HIGH SCHOOL! They were freshmen at Main West in Des Plaines. They sat next to each other in a 2nd period math class. He was super annoying to her personally. Which she later realized was his way of flirting with her. She thought he was cute and, as she got to know him more, she fell in love with his sense of humor. He also played baseball and was in a band, which she thought was HOT! He thought she was pretty and was drawn to her.

Their first date was in April of 2008. Randy went to her birthday party to see the movie Prom Night at the AMC Theatre with her friends, and then he joined them at her parents house after. He held her hand during the movie and that’s when she realized she liked him so much! He didn’t remember anything about the film because his mind was consumed by the fact that he was holding the hand of what he still considers to be the most beautiful girl he’s ever laid his eyes on.

To this day, he says it’s the best 8 dollars and 25 cents he’s ever spent. On May 3, 2008, he mustered up the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend. She said yes….they shared their first kiss… and they’ve been together ever since. To this day, he says it’s the best 8 dollars and 25 cents he’s ever spent.

How did Randy propose to Rosalia, you might wonder?

It was March 9, 2019. He surprised her by re-creating their very first anniversary from May of 2009. Back then they didn’t have drivers licenses so he set up a “restaurant” in his parent’s basement. His parents ordered her favorite deep-dish pizza from Lou Malnati’s and his brothers were their waiters. This time he enlisted his father to be their executive chef and cook them a crab and steak dinner. He also hired two of her best friends (Toni & Nicole B.) to be their waitresses for the night.

He decorated the basement with candles and pictures of them over the past decade and made a playlist with meaningful songs. Almost immediately when she arrived downstairs, he knelt down on one knee and asked her to marry him finall. She of course said yes. They stood and cried happy tears for a few minutes and barely ate the delicious meal.  All her friends joined her later and she cried tears of happiness the whole night. And they both drank way too much wine in celebration! There were a lot of toasts to the happy couple. Any reason to toast!! Everyone was so happy for them, just as we are now! And that, ladies and gentlemen, leads us to today!”

Rose and Randy’s wedding was just so classic. I loved every single detail. From her elegant gown to the green décor in the Brix on The Fox reception. And can we talk about their reception?! It was SO much fun! The DJ kept their guests entertained and on the dance floor all night long. Genuinely, their entire vendor team was stellar. The reception was just over the top and amazing! I hope you enjoy a peek into this stunning day – it is seriously one of my favorites!
