The Rookery Building engagement session | Jennifer + Mathew
Venue – The Rookery Building & Chicago Board of Trade Building
The Rookery Building engagement session with it’s beautiful staircase charm is one of the most popular engagement sessions locations. It’s also one of my favorite engagement session locations in Chicago. We meet up inside of the Rookery Building to capture these two & their love!!!
One thing I can say about Jennifer and Mathew is that these two have such a great chemistry and style. I loved photographing them! I could sense such joy between them every time they looked at each other. Literally, the first photo I took of them was perfect. There was a level of comfortability and ease which is so refreshing! Right off the bat, they were warmed up and ready to go for pictures. I didn’t even have to coach them. They are so photogenic and easy to work with. I knew right away that this couple is pure gold. I couldn’t be more pleased with how their Chicago engagement photos turned out!
This session at the Rookery Building was perfect!
We were able to get some unique shots. We were super lucky with the weather since last weekend was super cold and snowy. The day of the session was warm and sunny and we had great light inside.
The Rookery building is famous for their incredible stairs. This Building and it’s beautiful staircase was on my engagement photography bucket list for so long, I have to admit it didn’t disappoint. The Rookery Building was built in 1888 and was one of the first “skyscrapers” constructed in Chicago. The Rookery was a city landmark since 1972 and is one of the most popular engagement and wedding venues for photography and a wedding reception. It’s Light Court gave us dreamy light for our engagement photos. It felt like we were transported back in time. The large elegant exterior windows offered abundant natural light at the grand iron staircases. The white marble floor and walls created a unique elegant backdrop for our Chicago engagement photos. This building was such a fun evening and these two really were a joy to photograph.
After the inside pictures we went outside, at the front of The Rookery building we were so excited that we were able also to get the Chicago Board of Trade Building on Lasalle Street. I think that this street and the Chicago Board of Trade Building are the most photogenic and popular photography locations in Chicago.
I am so looking forward to celebrating with them and capturing their The Ritz Carlton Chicago wedding this winter! Stay tuned for more from Jennifer and Mathew in December!
