Life is full of uncertainty, and nothing encapsulated that more than the Covid health crisis. With everything closing down and people sheltering in place, it paradoxically saw a surge in online dating profiles. And in the midst of this unpredictable time, two souls found each other, defying all odds.

Opposites Really Do Attract

Anna and Cuyler’s love story began when they decided to give online dating another try, and in September, they stumbled upon each other on Hinge. They seemed like two completely opposite people, and yet, much to Cuyler’s surprise, Anna swiped right.

On September 25th, 2020, the two went on their first date at Courageous Café, opting to sit outside to be as safe as possible during the pandemic. Anna loved fashion, Taylor Swift, and ghost videos, while Cuyler enjoyed reading, tinkering with computers, and playing role-playing games. They couldn’t have been more different, and yet, there was an undeniable spark between them.

Love Blossoms in Uncertain Times

Both Anna and Cuyler shared a passion for DIY projects, cooking, baking, and little acts of romance. However, it was Cuyler’s great-grandmother’s lasagna recipe that truly captured Anna’s heart. In the uncertain times of the pandemic, these two unlikely souls found solace and the greatest act of love they could ever hope for in each other.

A Proposal Surprise

Fast forward 2.5 years, and Anna and Cuyler found themselves preparing to embark on a new chapter together. On their anniversary of meeting, they revisited the local Coffee/Bakery shop where they had their first date, continuing their tradition of breakfast together. Little did Cuyler know, Anna had a ring waiting for him in her purse, planning to propose back to him.

In a moment of pure surprise and joy, Anna took the leap and proposed to Cuyler, who was left speechless. The look on his face was priceless, and their love story took yet another unexpected twist.

A Perfect Wedding Day at Saranello’s

On June 23rd, 2023, surrounded by their loved ones, Anahi and Cuyler celebrated their love at Saranellos in Wheeling. The venue, beautifully decorated in their chosen wedding colors of emerald green and gold, provided an enchanting backdrop for their summer romance to unfold.

Under the expert guidance of wedding planner Lara Jones, every detail was flawlessly executed. From the moment I arrived at the venue, it was evident that Lara was in control. With a calm and reassuring presence, she orchestrated every aspect of the ceremony and reception with precision. She coordinated effortlessly with the vendors, making sure that each piece of the puzzle fit together seamlessly.

Getting ready at The Westin North Shore in Wheeling

The Westin North Shore in Wheeling served as the perfect getting ready location for Anahi and Cuyler, and it seamlessly complemented the elegance of their wedding day. Transitioning smoothly from the anticipation-filled morning to the joyous ceremony and reception, the couple’s journey began at this exquisite venue. With its luxurious amenities and picturesque surroundings, The Westin North Shore set the stage for a day filled with love and celebration.

Anahi looked absolutely radiant, her Galina Signature dress from David’s Bridal adorned with intricate floral lace appliques and embellished with thousands of beads and sequins. Her Journee Collection shoes added the perfect finishing touch.

Cuyler, dashing in his attire from Thursday Boot Company, eagerly awaited his bride at the altar, accompanied by his closest friends and family. The couples wedding bands from RingsByLux & Eternate symbolized their eternal commitment to each other.

Sweety Dream, the talented florist, created breathtaking floral arrangements that perfectly complemented the theme. The emerald green bridesmaids’ dresses and the gold accents throughout the venue added a touch of elegance and sophistication.

As the sun set, DJ Juvy set the mood, playing the couple’s first dance song, “Dandelions” by Ruth B. Anna and Cuyler gracefully twirled across the dance floor, lost in the moment and surrounded by love.

Catering provided by Saranellos exceeded all expectations, delighting guests with a delectable menu that showcased the couple’s favorite dishes. From appetizers to desserts, every bite was a culinary masterpiece.

Hector Herrera, a close friend of the couple, officiated the ceremony, adding a personal touch to the heartfelt vows exchanged between Anna and Cuyler. Their love and devotion were palpable, leaving not a dry eye in the room.

As the evening progressed, laughter and joy filled the air, as guests toasted to the newlyweds and shared in their happiness. The atmosphere was vibrant and filled with the warmth of love and celebration.

Throughout the day, I had the privilege of capturing the precious moments, from the anticipation before the ceremony to the lively dance floor and heartfelt speeches. Every smile, every tear, and every stolen glance was beautifully preserved in photographs, a testament to the love that permeated the air.

The wedding day was a true reflection of Anna and Cuyler’s unique personalities and their journey as a couple. It was a celebration of love, resilience, and the beauty of finding your perfect match, even in the most unexpected circumstances.

As the night drew to a close, Anna and Cuyler bid farewell to their loved ones, embarking on a new adventure as husband and wife. Their love story continues, promising a future filled with happiness, laughter, and countless more cherished memories.
