The city of Chicago boasts an abundance of beautiful locations for weddings and engagements, including its amazing parks, historic and classic hotels, and repurposed industrial locations and sites. Likewise, among the various locations in the city, Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe tops the list as the ideal place to host any milestones of lovely couples. No wonder why Sara and Shaun booked this for their engagement session day.

Romantic time together

The Chicago Botanic Garden is a tranquil haven of beauty located just north of Chicago. It offers a choice of locations for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and receptions, as well as amazing rich landscapes and flowers. And behind Sara and Shaun’s lovely photos is a lovely location.

A Tantalizing Thursday

Clad in a simple yet elegant look, Sara and Shaun looked so in-love in their engagement photoshoot session with me. It was a beautiful summer morning at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, and the happy couple couldn’t be happier with the setting, the location, and the weather. Most importantly, they were the happiest — an engagement ring just sealed a new chapter of their lives.

With all the romantic, candid and wonderful photos I took, it can be visibly seen that the couple was enjoying the botanic garden engagement shoot. From the romantic poses up to the moving ones, both of them were cooperative and game to take photos all day. If only we could spend the entire day just shooting and posing this botanic garden engagement, we will!

A bride and groom

To the head turning soon-to-be wed woman of Chicago, Sara is a stunner! No lies: she killed this elegance written all over her face and body language. With a white top, dusty rose maxi skirt, white pumps paired with white nails, her look is an eye-pleaser. Her makeup was a no-makeup, makeup look. She definitely did not need a heavy one, she looks even prettier when simpler.

Dressed in simple clothes of polo shirt, basic trousers, and boat shoes, Shaun was definitely a natural! You just have to admit it, a man’s best look is the cleanest one. Definitely, he delivered serving us poses that day. He looked comfortable, in-love, and romantic.

Expecting the unexpected

In my personal conversation with Sara, she excitedly told me that she did not expect that Shaun would kneel down, give her the ring, and ask for her hand, and get married. “I had absolutely no idea. Shaun had been planning it with my MOH for months and neither told me. We got engaged at the Chicago Botanical Gardens when we went to go see the Christmas lights.”

Places Bring Back Memories

With the same engagement location, the two stars of the botanic garden engagement shoot selected the same location — Chicago Botanic Garden — to capture photos of them. True enough, you can’t deny the romance that filled the summer air during this engagement shoot. The Chicago Botanic Garden is the most stunning, unique location for photographs. Basically, this is a photographer’s dream location at any time of year, day, or season.

An Extended Family

During this fun shoot, it became more fun with our special guests: their dogs! Since your pets are a part of your family, you really must include them in this momentous occasion, right?

Chicago Botanic Garden: Fine, Fresh, Fun!

With their wedding day slated in July 9th, I am sure that the wedding location Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook will be graced by a lovely couple who will stand the test of time. With love and affection written all over their places, I wouldn’t mind shooting them every once in a while.

To Sara and Shaun, you nailed this shoot. As I witnessed a couple who loved each other so dearly, I can’t wait for what the future holds to the both of you. Together with your dogs, we would love to see babies in the future too! Let’s document every milestone of your lives together.
